A Chronological Pantheon of Pataphysics
Handcoloured giclee print – Edition of 12 with 1 AP
£3,000
The idea of Pataphysics was first conceived by Alfred Jarry as a branch of philosophy or science that examines imaginary phenomena that exist in a world beyond metaphysics; it is the science of imaginary solutions. The central image of an absurdly obese man’s intestines comes from Jarry’s play Ubu Roi. This is a precursor to the physical theatre central to the live arts performed in The House of Fairy Tales.
