The Magnificent Edinburgh Escapade
The House of Fairy Tales is back from its pilot residency as part of the Edinburgh Art Festival.
During our time there we produced The Magnificent Edinburgh Escapade as an interactive guide to the city, weaving together the history and geography of Edinburgh’s streets in a magical adventure, the escapade took families and children on a problem solving tour through the city and the festival programme.
As part of the residency we created our child-centred HoFT Examiner Newsroom on George St (thanks to our hosts White Stuff). Here in our editing suite and TV studio we created our the playper made by and for children. Over August hundreds of children and young people became trainee reporters, reviewers and broadcasters, and created 2 issues of the paper, 8,000 copies of which were distributed throughout Edinburgh during and after the festivals.
