Stephen Whitehead is a ‘camofleur artist’ who explores the act of camouflage in our natural environment. Stephen’s practise is dependant on his audience and their native response to the subject. His work invites children and adults alike to participate in the process of making learning and experience a creative act. His workshops range from developing craft skills in fabrics, ceramic, wood, metal and plastics, all with a focus on encouraging empathy with nature.
Stephen is a main character who plays with The House of Fairy Tales travelling arts circus through national galleries and museums as well as festivals, parks and schools.
