Calling all Artists – The smallest exhibition for the smallest people is about to take place!

This year The House of Fairy Tales is the official charity for The Other Art Fair. During October’s Fair in the Truman Brewery, we are inviting artists from the fair as well as other established international artists to create a matchbox artwork for a specially curated fundraising exhibition that will be catalogued and promoted during the fair.

Artworks are being auctioned to help fund The House of Fairy Tales schools workshop programme in Spring 2016.

Your artwork must have some connection to the concept of a matchbox… It could be inside or on or around a matchbox; a matchbox could be decorated, modified or deconstructed; it could include a matchbox or part of a matchbox; it could be a representation of a matchbox or a new form of matchbox of your own invention; it could be a conceptual challenge to the idea of a matchbox — how you want to approach it is up to you.

The only binding criterion is that it should be no larger than 10 x 10 x 10 cm.

Expressions of interest should be submitted as soon as possible so we have an idea of numbers for our display. We would like photos of your matchbox artwork is Friday 9th October, to give us time to prepare the catalogue and the display of the exhibition.
